The sumptuous costuming and spirited dance traditions of Silk Road cultures are a vital part of world dance history and practice. Our mission is to delight and inform our audiences while introducing them to these traditions.

Laurel Victoria Gray, Artistic Director, has devoted her life to studying and researching the history, dance, culutre and traditions of the Near East, Asia Minor, Central Asia and beyond; she has made twelve trips to Uzbekistan alone and maintains a considerable collection of valuable authentic costumes.

Dr. Gray's lifelong devotion to these dances and her skill as choreographer and costumer ensure fine performances. Historically accurate costumes provide a visual feast; the varied dance program maintains interest and provides stimulating contrasts; evocative dances and music capture and transmit the spirit of each region they represent.
