Embassy Events
Silk Road Dance Company frequently presents ethnographic programs at various embassies in Washington, DC. In addition to concert performances at the Embassy of Uzbekistan, Silk Road Dance Company has also performed at the embassies of Russia, Turkey, and Kazakhstan.
The ensemble also created a very special historical dance concert for the Emabassy of Egypt.
The ensemble has also appeared at the Mexican Cultural Institute in Washington, DC.

Festivals
In 2005, Silk Road Dance Company was the first American dance company to be invited to perform at the UNESCO sponsored Sharq Taronalari (Melodies of the East) festival in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
Traditional festivals throughout the United States and the Washington, DC, have engaged Silk Road Dance Company. The ensemble performed in Chicago's Multicultural Festival in 2004.
The ensemble also presented costumes and dances of Central Asia at the Smithsonian's Silk Road Festival.
Selections from Silk Road Dance Company's Turkic dance repertoire have won the ensemble performances at Seattle's TurkFest, the North Carolina Turkish Festival, and DC's Turkish Festival.
Silk Road Dance Company performed at the North Miami Florida Persian Festival and at DC's Persian Festivals.
Silk Road Dance Company collaborated with guest artists from St.Petersburg, Russia, for the Herdeljezi Roma (Gypsy) Festival of 2009.
The company has also particpated in the Dance DC Festival, the World Dance Festival of Essex Community College, and the Takoma Park Folk Festival, Baltimore's Artscape Festival, and the Rakkasah Middle Eastern Dance Festival of New Jersey.

Museum Programs
Silk Road Dance Company creates special programs for museum exhibitions. Our extensive dance repertoire and costume collection cover a wide range of ethnographic and historic styles.
The Sackler Gallery of the Smithsonian festured Silk Road Dance Company in their innaugural ''Asia After Dark'' series. SRDC selected dances to compliment the ''Gifts for the Tsar'' exhibit from the Kremlin that included art from Imperial Russian, Ottoman Turkey, and Saffavid Persia.
Silk Road Dance Company performed ancient Egyptian dance reconstructions at Chicago's Field Museum and the North Carolina Museum of Art in connection with the British Masterworks Exhibition of Ancient Egyptian Art.
At the Houston Museum of Fine Art, Silk Road Dance Company presented an evening program of dance from the Silk Road.
The Asia Society in New York presented Silk Road Dance Company in two programs of dances and tales to compliment an exhibit on Kashmiri art.
Silk Road Dance Company was honored to participate in the Textile Museum's annual Family Festival of Textiles. In addition to Central Asian dances, the ensemble's dragon also made an appearance, to the delight of young audience members.
Baltimore's Walters Museum often calls upon Silk Road Dance Company for family programs, including themes from Greek Mythology.

University and College Concerts
Special dance concerts augment academic courses and study areas for many universities and colleges. Silk Road Dance Company has share the historic dance traditions of the Middle East, Central Asia, and the Caucasus with many university and college communities.
Silk Road Dance Company presented our ancient Egyptian concert ''Egypta: Myth, Magic and Mystery'' at James Madison University.
''Raqiset Shaabia: Folkloric Dance of the Arab World'' was the theme of Silk Road Dance Company's program at Salisbury University.
At Shepherd College, the ensemble presented
''Dances of the Islamic World.''
Since 1995, Silk Road Dance Company has also presented rpgrams at George Washington University, National Defense University, Georgetown University, Randolph-Macon College, Notre Dame College of Baltimore, Mount St. Mary's College, Community College of Baltimore, University of Maryland, Essex Community College, Howard Community College, and Northern Virginia Community College.

Persian Weddings
Silk Road Dance Company specializes in wedding traditions from Middle Eastern and Central Asian cultures. We have celebrated Persian, Egyptian, Afghani, Lebanese, South Asian and Azerbaijani weddings, bringing ancient customs to life for guests.

Ojos Asi
Grammy winner Shakira has a Columbian and Lebanese heritage which is reflected in the Spanish and Arabic lyrics of this song. The dance style also blends Spanish and Arabic elements, a legacy dating back to the 8th century Moorish invasion of Spain.

Ancient Egyptian Banquet Dance

Inspired by tomb paintings of a banquent scene, this lively and energetic dance incorporates high kicks, jumps, and percussive elements. The sistrum were musical instruments used in ancient Egypt to make sounds pleasing to the Goddess Hathor.
